Lowering cholesterol and the role of plant stanols and sterols,
Dr Rosemary Leonard

As a consultant dietitian, Helen can show you how simple changes to your diet can have a positive impact on heart health. Helen is passionate about food, home cooking and the impact it can have on health. Helen firmly believes that there are no good or bad foods, only good or bad diets.
“Part of the challenge is that we can’t see cholesterol so we need to have confidence that the changes we are making are effective and be committed to our cause. There are lots of small changes you can make to your diet that can make a big difference when it comes to tackling high cholesterol, for example, replacing saturated fat with good monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, increasing your intake of fruit, veg and soluble fibre and including cholesterol-lowering foods in your diet, such as those containing plant stanols or sterols.”
